A production of the musical ‘Baby,’ directed by Desert Theatre League multi-award-winning director Rebecca McWilliams, will run from May 22 to June 9 at Revolution Stage Company, Palm Springs’ newest theater company.
“Baby” debuted on Broadway in 1983 and is the creation of acclaimed composers Richard Maltby, Jr., and David Shire. The musical delves into the transformative journey of impending parenthood. Audiences embark on an emotional rollercoaster with expectant parents as they navigate the highs, lows, and comedic moments which come with the arrival of a baby.
Set on a university campus in the 1980s, “Baby” follows three couples at different life stages, each grappling with the challenges and joys of an expected baby. From surprised college students to thirty-somethings struggling to conceive, along with middle-aged parents unexpectedly revisiting the prospect of a new arrival, “Baby” explores universal experiences of love, hope, and family.
