Follow the yellow-brick road to the San Gabriel Mission Playhouse lot for a one-hour drive-in performance of “The Wizard of Oz.”
Performed by the Pasadena Civic Ballet with guest artists Petra Conti and Eris Nezha, former principal dancers with La Scala, Boston Ballet and Los Angeles Ballet, will originate the role of the Rainbow.
Pasadena Civic Ballet’s #FollowTheYellowBrickRoad social campaign is teaming up with Pasadena eateries to support recovery of the arts and small businesses, both hit hard by the pandemic. Artists from the production popped up in various local cafes, bakeries and eateries encouraging outdoor dining and delivery/takeout.
Attendees will also get to indulge in “picnic in Oz.” San Marino Café, a female-owned is catering company, will provide “Munchkin Picnic Boxes” to be enjoyed in the car before the show (included in ticket price).
Tickets are $45 per passenger. Performances will be held Friday, March 12 through Sunday, March 14 at the San Gabriel Mission Playhouse lot located at 320 S. Mission Dr., San Gabriel, CA 91776. The lot opens 30 minutes before each showtime so you might want to arrive early as parking is first come, first served.
Tickets can be purchased at pcballet.com.
