A Disaster Recovery Center opened Monday in Altadena, the third such center to open in the wake of the Southland’s destructive and deadly wildfires.
The center at 540 W. Woodbury Road operates daily 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and is the third such resource hub for fire victims. A center is also at UCLA Research Park West, 10850 W. Pico Blvd. in Los Angeles and at the Pasadena City College Community Education Center, 3035 E. Foothill Blvd. The Pasadena center will cease operations Saturday, officials said.
The recovery centers provide a one-stop location providing people impacted by the fires with a range of services and resources.
Twenty-seven county, state and federal agencies have representatives at the centers. Some agencies include the LA County Public Health Department, the county Office of the Assessor and California departments of Motor Vehicles, Insurance and Social Services. Federal Emergency Management Agency staff also are at the recovery centers, as are representatives of the U.S. Small Business and Social Security administrations.
