As part of Fire Prevention Week, Monrovia Fire & Rescue will be hosting the annual Fire Prevention Week Open House on Saturday at Fire Station 101 (141 E. Lemon Ave.) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the community to enjoy fire safety demonstrations, games, and safety and informational tips.
The Monrovia Fire & Rescue team will also be hosting a blood drive during the event. The blood drive will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Hurricane Helene has disrupted the American Red Cross’s blood supply by canceling numerous drives in the Southeast, particularly in Georgia and the Carolinas. This has resulted in over 1,500 missed donations, and further cancellations are anticipated, with fewer donors expected due to adverse weather conditions.
If interested, you may schedule your appointment at redcrossblood.org. Enter “CERTM” to schedule an appointment. Each donation can save up to three lives.
