Pasadena Water and Power has launched an online tracker to provide information on clean energy targets and milestones, the city announced Thursday.
The Clean Energy Tracker is available at PWPweb.com/CleanEnergyTracker.
According to PWP, the tracker is part of the effort to attain the City Council’s goal established last year of 100% carbon-free electricity by the end of 2030, “while optimizing for affordability, rate equity, stability, and reliability.”
The utility’s Interim General Manager David Reyes said in a statement, “PWP is committed to reaching ambitious carbon-free energy goals while continuing to provide reliable power at competitive rates.”
The tracker shows updates of the city’s progress on clean energy targeted milestones.
“Specific metrics provided in the initial launch focus on requirements of Senate Bill 100, (Pasadena City Council) Resolution 9977, community adoption of distributed energy resources and electric vehicles, and energy efficiency savings,” according to the city statement.
The new clean-energy progress monitor will receive upgrades in phases to provide informative progress updates that are “relevant, transparent, and easy to interpret,” Pasadena officials said.
The public can feedback on the tracker via WPD_IRP@CityOfPasadena.net or 626-744-4005.
Nonprofit and community-owned, PWP supplies more than 65,000 Pasadena customers with electricity, according to the utility. It provides water to nearly 38,000 households and businesses in the city and nearby areas in the San Gabriel Valley.
