A 13-year-old girl who went missing near Los Angles International Airport while on vacation in the Southland from Mexico with her parents was found safe Wednesday.
Valentina Morales Magana had been last seen about 2 p.m. Tuesday near 98th Street and Airport Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
“Valentina became involved in a verbal dispute and left the area after her mother noticed her putting on makeup,” an LAPD statement said.
Police said Wednesday afternoon the teen had been found safe and was being reunited with her family.
An LAPD lieutenant told KNX News the girl was found in Hawthorne, and a person found with her was detained for questioning, although it was unclear if any crime had been committed. No details were immediately available on where the girl was during the 24 hours she was missing.
