A 92-year-old woman was briefly abducted Friday when somebody stole a running car in which she was sitting in Hollywood, but she was later found safe and the car was recovered.
According to Los Angeles police, Anna Dovgalevsky was inside a car that was left with the engine running and subsequently stolen around 7:30 a.m. at Selma and Courtney avenues in Hollywood.
Police said the car’s owner reported that her mother was inside the car when it was taken.
“A silver alert was issued while officers desperately search for the car,” police said. “When the car was found, with the 92-year-old mother unharmed, the victim was overjoyed.”
The car was found around noon. There was no immediate information on a possible suspect in the car theft.
