Two people were seriously injured and seven others suffered minor injuries Thursday when a shuttle bus crashed on the lower level of the terminal area at Los Angeles International Airport.
The crash occurred about 12:20 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department, which reported there were 23 people aboard the shuttle.
Two people were described as being in “at least serious condition,” according to the fire department. Seven others suffered minor, non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.
The LAFD reported all injured people were passengers on the bus.
The cause of the crash was not immediately provided and it was unclear if other vehicles were involved. It was also unclear what type of shuttle was involved in the crash.
Airport officials urged motorists to consider using the upper level of the terminal horseshoe roadway while crews responded to the crash.
