The Los Angeles Dodgers announced Monday that, for the first time, the team will be wearing on-field pride caps as the organization celebrates its ninth annual LGBTQ+ Pride Night at Dodger Stadium on June 3.
The caps will also be sold at the Top of the Park and the Left Field Team Store, while supplies last.
Eight days later, both the Dodgers and Giants will take the field at Oracle Park in San Francisco wearing their respective team’s pride caps.
“The Los Angeles Dodgers are proud to stand with and recognize the LGBTQ+ community in Los Angeles and globally,” said Stan Kasten, president and CEO of the Dodgers. “The Dodgers have a history of breaking barriers and we’re proud to be a part of another chapter in MLB history as the Dodgers and Giants each wear their team’s pride caps on June 11. While our organizations have a long-storied rivalry on the field, we stand together when it comes to equality for all.”
Fans who purchase a special ticket package to the June 3 game will receive an exclusive commemorative Dodger LGBTQ+ game jersey. Various guests and activities are scheduled during and prior to the game.
