Woman shot in leg in elevator at Woodland Hills apartment complex

A woman was found shot in a leg in an elevator in Woodland Hills Wednesday.

Los Angeles Police Department officers responded just before 3 a.m. to the 22000 block of Victory Boulevard after a caller found the woman inside the elevator at an apartment complex, police said.

The woman was taken to a hospital in critical condition, according to police.

No suspect description was provided and further details on events leading up to the shooting were not immediately available, though KNX reported a vehicle that was seen leaving the area following the shooting was later impounded.

Police could not immediately confirm if the vehicle was connected to the shooting.
