

Nominees for the 33rd annual GLAAD Media Awards will be announced on Jan. 19. Select categories will be presented during “RuPaul’s Drag Race” live at 9 a.m. via GLAAD’s TikTok channel. Additional categories will be shared on the GLAAD.org website.
The GLAAD Media Awards are set to return to in-person ceremonies in Los Angeles and New York City after being virtual events in 2020 and 2021. The GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles are scheduled for April 2 and in New York on May 6.
Since its inception in 1990, the GLAAD Media Awards have grown to be the most visible annual LGBTQ awards show in the world, according to a release distributed on Thursday.
In 2020 and 2021, the GLAAD Media Awards featured appearances and performances by Lil Nas X, Dolly Parton, Katy Perry, Demi Lovato, Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union, Niecy Nash, Sam Smith, Dan Levy, Chloe x Halle, Slerling K. Brown, Laverne Cox, Matt Bomer, Jim Parsons, JoJo Siwa, Lilly Singh, Jennifer Garner, Olicia Wilde, Cara Delevingne and Lena Waithe.
