Person killed in crash on 405 freeway in Gardena area

A person was killed Friday in a traffic crash on the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway in the Gardena area.
The crash was reported about 4:30 a.m. near Western Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Information was not immediately available on the identity of the fatally injured person. The circumstances of the crash were under investigation.
