

A Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputy was hospitalized after she was exposed to an unknown substance during a search of a vehicle following a pursuit in Chino Hills, authorities said Wednesday.
The deputy was searching the vehicle near Grand Avenue Park just before 2:10 p.m. when she came into contact with an unknown liquid substance, according to Deputy Alejandra Parra of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
The deputy was taken to a hospital by paramedics following the exposure, and she was listed in stable condition.
A hazardous materials unit was called to the scene to investigate the unknown substance in the vehicle.
