

A knife-wielding man was shot by Los Angeles police in the Pico-Union area and was listed in stable condition Tuesday morning, authorities said.
Officers received multiple calls regarding an assault with a deadly weapon Monday night in the area of Pico Boulevard and Union Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The shooting was reported about 9 p.m., and the suspect was taken to a local hospital.
“The suspect is now in stable condition,” an LAPD spokeswoman told City News Service.
The circumstances of the shooting were under investigation, and no officers were injured, the spokeswoman said.
