A motorist was taken into custody in the Downey area Friday after leading authorities on a chase in a possibly stolen car.
The chase, which reportedly originated in Barstow, ended shortly before 10 a.m., when the suspect surrendered. The suspect was initially pursued by Barstow PD officers before the California Highway Patrol took over, according to Fox 11.
The chase started on the 10 Freeway before the suspect led officers to the southbound 605 Freeway. The suspect then went onto the 105 Freeway toward the Downey area where he was arrested, according to Fox 11.
The man was driving a Mercedes-Benz sedan and drove onto a residential sidewalk, then came to a stop when he struck a fence in front of a home.
