A couple stopped an attempted sexual assault on a woman in Palmdale, and a suspect was in custody, authorities said Friday.
Deputies responded at 8:23 p.m. Thursday to 39940 10th Street West regarding reports of an alleged attempted sexual assault in the parking lot of a Sam’s Club, Sgt. Ryan Bodily of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department told City News Service.
Witnesses told deputies that a man attacked the victim and that a couple intervened, with one of them using pepper spray, according to Bodily.
The alleged assailant fled but was later captured and arrested, Bodily said.
Specific charges were not yet available.
Bodily said the victim was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries.
