Sheriff’s homicide detectives Monday were investigating the death of an 81-year-old woman who apparently had been dead for several days before her body was discovered in San Dimas.
Deputies were called about 5:15 p.m. Sunday to the 100 block of Citrus Ranch Road for a welfare check, according to Deputy Trina Schrader of the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department’s Information Bureau.
“Upon arriving, deputies discovered the elderly female white victim unresponsive inside,” a sheriff’s statement said. “She was pronounced dead at the scene. It appears the victim had been dead for several days and her remains were in the advanced stages of decomposition.”
Information on the woman’s identity was not immediately available. An autopsy was pending to determine the cause of her death.
Anyone with information was asked to call detectives at 323-890-5500 or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477).
