The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department today announced it is seeking information on a shooting that occurred in an unincorporated area near Gardena that left a 29-year-old man dead and a 38-year-old woman injured.
The shooting was reported at about 11:50 a.m. Tuesday in the 1400 block of 126th Street, near Vermont Avenue, according to Deputy Alejandra Parra of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
Deputies arrived at the scene and found the man sitting in the driver’s seat of a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper body and the woman sitting in the passenger seat who was grazed by the gunfire.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman was taken to a local hospital where she was treated and released for non-life threatening injuries.
The victims’ names were not released. There is no known motive for the shooting.
