A man struck and killed in a Pico Rivera hit-and-run crash was publicly identified today.
Fernie Lopez was 29 years old. His city of residence was not available.
Lopez’s death was reported at 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the 9000 block of Reichling Lane, according to Deputy Alejandra Parra of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
He was talking with occupants of a dark-colored Chevrolet Suburban. When he walked away, the vehicle sped at him, hit him and then fled, authorities said.
Lopez was pronounced dead at the scene, Parra said.
