On Wednesday, at approximate 5:40 p.m., officers from the Pasadena Police Department responded to Roscoe’s House of Chicken & Waffles, located at 830 N. Lake Ave., regarding an armed robbery that had just occurred. Prior to officers’ arrival, the suspect had fled the scene in a dark colored, four-door sedan.
Officers searched the area for the suspect and vehicle, but neither were immediately located. A preliminary investigation revealed the suspect had engaged in a verbal argument with an employee over the restaurant’s facial covering requirement. The suspect refused to comply and for unknown reasons, produced a handgun while threatening the employees. The suspect demanded a bag of food items and after receiving the filled bag, he took this food and several other food orders, which were waiting for customer pick up. He then fled the location with the stolen items and entered the described vehicle.
The restaurant’s surveillance cameras recorded the incident and officers collected the video as well as other evidentiary items. Pasadena Police detectives are actively analyzing the evidence for additional leads.
The investigation is on-going, and no further details are available at this time.
Pasadena Police is urging anyone with information about this case to call the Pasadena Police at (626) 744-4241.
