The Arcadia Chamber of Commerce honored Methodist Hospital of Southern California as the Business of the Year during its Board of Directors Installation and Awards Event last month.
“Methodist Hospital is an essential part of the well-being of the City of Arcadia, and we recognize their dedication to our community especially during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Karen MacNair, CEO of Arcadia Chamber of Commerce.
Methodist Hospital has endured its most challenging year since moving to Arcadia from downtown Los Angeles in 1957. Since the pandemic began in early 2020, Methodist Hospital has cared for more than 2,100 COVID-19 inpatients and provided COVID-19 tests to more than 13,000 people. The pandemic’s surge in recent months has led to doctors, nurses and staff caring for more than 100 patients daily at the hospital who are in COVID-19 isolation.
“We sincerely thank the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce for being selected as the Business of the Year. We are greatly humbled by this recognition,” said Cliff Daniels, senior vice president and chief strategy officer with Methodist Hospital. “We’re very proud to be a source for high-quality healthcare services for the Arcadia community and the San Gabriel Valley, and we very much appreciate the support of the community through this COVID-19 pandemic.”
