Just don’t expect to watch any television

After a two-month cessation due to COVID-19 cases, outdoor dining again is now permitted in Los Angeles County but with a new restriction forcing restaurants to turn off or remove televisions used for broadcast programming near customer seating areas.
The county’s revised health officer order also reinstates previous restrictions on patio dining — requiring servers to wear masks and face shields, limiting restaurants to 50% of outdoor capacity and requiring tables to be at least 8 feet apart.
Determinedto be the first to dine outside, some brave Monrovians stepped out Friday at lunchtimeto dine at Senna on Myrtle, enjoying a good meal despite nature’s temperament.The irony wasn’t lost on one passerby who quipped that Governor Gavin Newsom’stiming for reopening was “just in time for the perfect storm.”
If you plan on watching basketball or anything on television, well, that’s just not acceptable, says county health in its updated order.
“Televisions or any other screens that are used to broadcast programming must be removed from the area or turned off,” reads the updated order.
