

TheCity of Arcadia, in coordination with the Bobcat Fire Unified Command, islifting the mandatory evacuation order for all residents north of Elkins Ave.and east of Santa Anita Ave. beginning at 4 p.m. Wednesday. Residents will notbe able to return before 4 p.m. All residents in the area are advised to be onalert as spot fires and uncertain weather conditions have the potential tochange fire conditions.
Residentswill be asked to provide a valid ID upon returning to the area. The ArcadiaPolice Department will be at ingress points along the evacuation zone to assistresidents in returning home, in addition to providing additional patrols in thearea throughout the evening. Nonresidents will not be allowed to transit thearea.
Thereare many hazards that may exist when returning to your home after a wildfire.These hazards can include fire ash, damaged utilities, as well as hazardousmaterials. To protect yourself from these hazards, it is important to utilizepersonal protective equipment that can include breathing protection (N-95 ratedrespirators), protective clothing, gloves, and boots, as well as eye/faceprotection.
Firecrews worked overnight to protect the foothill neighborhoods of Arcadia. TheBobcat Fire made its way into the Chantry Flat area above Arcadia andapproached Wilderness Park. Although the fire burned the hillside above thepark, the park was not damaged. The fire is continuing to burn westward throughthe Angeles National Forest along with spotting in nearby canyons. Nostructures in Arcadia have been impacted. The fire has grown to over 44,000acres and is 3% contained.
TheArcadia Fire Department will continue to monitor the situation and will provideupdates as conditions change.
