Since learning that City Manager Oliver Chi accepted to be the next city manager for the City of Huntington Beach, the City Council has been working to find his replacement. According to the latest City Manager’s Update, “the overall process is expected to result in the identification of a recommended candidate at some point in the next week or two.”
In addition to internal reviews and candidate background checks, City Council also engaged three in-depth reviews of candidates. In closed session on Sept. 3 council reviewed recommended candidates and then conducted the first round of interviews in another closed session on Sept. 6. In another closed session on Monday, council and various interview panels conducted finalist interviews.
