Victim of Shooting in Pasadena Succumbs Injury

On Friday, Aug. 9, 2019, at about 10:49 a.m., Pasadena Police responded to the 100 block of Painter Street regarding a shooting victim. Officers arrived on scene and found 24-year-old Anthony Michael Tafoya Ortiz, of Los Angeles suffering from a gunshot wound. Pasadena Fire Department paramedics arrived and transported Ortiz to a local hospital in grave condition.

Despite the life-saving efforts of medical staff, Ortiz succumbed to his injury on Sunday morning at 10:36 a.m.

Detectives continue to investigate and are following up on leads.

The motive for the shooting remains under investigation. Preliminary investigation revealed the shooting was not random in nature. The investigation is on-going and no further details are being released at this time.
