In June the City of Monrovia announced it would apply for a grant from the State Park Bond Program to improve Lucida Garcia Park. Since the announcement, the city hosted several outreach programs to gather input from the community.

Based on what was learned from those efforts, the city developed a conceptual design of proposed improvements to Lucinda Garcia Park that it hopes to incorporate into its grant application, which is due Aug. 5. That conceptual site plan highlights 22 proposed park improvements.
