Lions have long been associated with recycling glasses and their concern for the vision impaired. In light of this it should be no surprise that the Lions Club of Pasadena is sponsoring a free vision screening on Saturday, July 21 starting at 8 a.m. All ages are welcome, and the screening will be done on a fire come, first served basis, so come early.
The Salvation Army’s Tabernacle at 960 E. Walnut in Pasadena is acting as the host location for the event. The Lions Club cannot ensure that all patients in line will be seen by 2 p.m. when the screenings are scheduled to conclude. The screenings may close early subject to attendance.
This event will also be an opportunity to recycle old eyeglasses. Those old glasses in the back of a drawer could help someone else with the help of the Lions Club. The organization has been recycling glasses for decades.
The screening will be conducted by California Lions Friends in Sight and Essilor Vision Foundation.
