As the events of the past few years have illustrated, a tragic wildfire can strike at any time and so Monrovia Fire & Rescue urges everyone to begin preparing for the next wildfire now. In order to help the community prepare, they will be hosting a Wildfire Community Preparedness Day on Sunday, May 26, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Monrovia Community Center, 119 W. Palm Ave., to help teach residents ways in which they can assess the fire vulnerability of their own homes. In addition, Fire & Rescue personnel will provide options and possible solutions to help improve the chances that your home will survive during the next wildfire.
Refreshments and a light lunch will be provided. Space for this event is limited; to RSVP, call (626) 256-8109.
