America’s greatest cycling race will enter Pasadena via Arroyo Boulevard/Windsor Avenue and will proceed southbound on Arroyo to Rosemont Avenue, where it will drop down into the Rose Bowl area. Riders will complete circuits around the Rose Bowl recreation loop and proceed to an exciting finish along West Drive, adjacent to the iconic and historic Rose Bowl Stadium. The women’s race is expected to arrive at noon, followed by the men’s race at 1:10 p.m.
In preparation for the arrival of the Amgen Tour of California, city streets impacted by the race will close to vehicular traffic from approximately 11:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Some streets around the Rose Bowl recreation loop will close to all traffic by 8 p.m. on Friday, May 17. The loop will remain closed following the conclusion of the race through 9 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, for the first-ever Rose Pedal, an open-streets bike ride, sponsored by the Rose Bowl Stadium.
To expedite travel on event day, motorists are encouraged to use Lincoln Avenue to the east, Linda Vista to the west, Woodbury Road or the 210 freeway to the north, and Colorado Boulevard or the 134 freeway to the south.
Parking for the Amgen Tour will be available in Lots H and I at the Rose Bowl Stadium. The parking fee is $10 per vehicle. The Memorial Park Gold Line station is conveniently located within 1 mile of the Rose Bowl Stadium, and Pasadena Transit Route 51 buses will run every 22 minutes from the station to Seco Street/Lincoln Avenue (about a 10-minute walk to the stadium).
The Amgen Tour route will be posted with temporary “No Parking” signs. Vehicles that are parked on the course during the restricted times will be towed and regular storage/impound charges will apply. Generally, any cars parked along the course after 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 18 (unless earlier restrictions are posted on signs), will be towed. All other parking restrictions will apply.
The 210 freeway ramps at Arroyo Boulevard/Windsor Avenue will be closed between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on event day. To access alternate freeway ramps in this vicinity, use Lincoln Avenue, where both east and westbound ramps will remain open.
