The Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and Project Alpha of LA, Inc. (“Project Alpha”) present the 4th annual LA Derby Day on Saturday, May 4, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at historic Pasadena City Hall (100 Garfield Ave.).
Over 1,000 attendees are expected dressed in fine spring fashions, pastel-colored suits, searsucker blazers, boaters and high-class millinery for one of the largest Kentucky Derby gatherings on the west coast. Watch a live video feed of the Kentucky Derby while a jazz and R&B band play music, eat from the catered soul food buffet and play at the gaming tables (roulette, blackjacks and craps).
General admission is $70. Proceeds from LA Derby Day will support Project Alpha, which operates the highly-regarded Alpha Junior Gents youth mentoring program and provides academic scholarships to deserving high school seniors enrolling in college.
