City Manager Oliver Chi announced this week in his City Manager’s Update that additional parking is coming to the downtown, specifically within walking distance of Movie Studio Grill. The city has been in discussion with representatives of Monrovia Lime, LLC, the owner, to obtain the right to use the approximately 150 parking spaces located in two lots on East Lime between Ivy and Canyon.
The year-long discussion has finally achieved positive results. The two lots will be available for general use by the end of May. In the interim, city crews will be making several improvements to the two lots (i.e. new lights, weed abatement, new striping etc.) The smaller of the two lots is just west of the Anderson House Museum, and the larger is located to the East of the Museum that is located at 215 E. Lime.
