On April 23, 2019, at 1:29 a.m., Arcadia police officers responded to the area of Huntington Drive and Michillinda Avenue regarding the activation of a department-owned bait item containing a GPS tracking device. Arcadia detectives regularly deploy bait items throughout the city to identify and arrest persons committing crimes. Officers located a potential suspect vehicle and attempted to conduct an enforcement stop. The vehicle failed to yield to officers and a pursuit was initiated. The pursuit was subsequently terminated in the area of Rosemead and Del Mar boulevards in Pasadena.

Shortly thereafter, officers located the suspect vehicle abandoned in the area of Del Mar Boulevard and Craig Avenue. The suspect vehicle, which contained the stolen property, was recovered; however, the suspect(s) were not located. The suspect vehicle was identified as a 2015 Grey Kia Optima four-door sedan. The driver of the suspect vehicle has yet to be identified.

The case is currently under investigation. Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to contact the Arcadia Police Department at (626) 574-5160, Case # 19-1955. If you prefer to provide information anonymously, you may call “Crime Stoppers” by dialing (800) 222-TIPS (8477), use your smartphone by downloading the “P3 Tips” mobile app on Google Play or the Apple App Store, or by using the website lacrimestoppers.org.
