Concerned about Monrovia raising the sales tax? Attend the meeting next Tuesday.
The City of Monrovia is looking at the possibility of raising the sales tax in town. To gain input from the community, city officials are holding a second meeting to discuss the issue. It will be held on Tuesday, March 26 from 6 -7 p.m. in the Monroe Room at the Community Center, 119 E. Palm Ave.
According to City Manager Oliver Chi, they want to hear from the community and “see if a local tax measure could be a viable solution for Monrovia as we search for ways to protect our local sales tax capacity from other governmental jurisdictions.”
