The City of Monrovia hosted a Monrovia Renewal North Section community meeting on Jan. 23 at the Library Community Room. The meeting was intended to let all impacted residents know about details related to the city’s construction plans (the North Section of the project includes the portion of the city located north of, and including, Hillcrest Boulevard).
Over 70 residents attended the meeting, which was a standing-room only event. Based on the questions and discussions that occurred throughout the night, it appeared that attendees were pleased with the progress the city has made to date on Monrovia Renewal. Residents also emphasized their desire to be kept well informed about details related to the project as it all begins to unfold. The city informed residents that the contractor for the North Section, Sully Miller Construction Company, is planning to mobilize the first week of February and that tangible construction work will be noticeable by late February.
