Guests ring in the new year at Lucky Baldwin’s, colloquially known as ‘The Club.’ – Photo by Terry Miller / Beacon Media News

By Terry Miller

It was a cold night for parade goers and New Year’s Eve revelers but the Mario Brothers and scores of cars cruised Colorado Boulevard during Pasadena’s annual rite-of-passage – people watching on the pre-parade route.

In East Pasadena, the British pub Lucky Baldwin’s celebrated early (at 4 p.m. PST) which was the official time London celebrated the ringing in of the New Year.

While attendance was lower than average this year, there was no shortage of fun on Pasadena streets and in local businesses, particularly those that served champagne.
