The Arcadia Fire Department (AFD) responded to a variety of emergency calls during the week of Oct. 28 – Nov. 3. During this period AFD responded to 114 incidents. The majority of those incidents, 79 total, were for rescue and emergency medical services. The second most common incidents were good intent calls, 14, followed closely by false alarms, 12.
The following is a breakdown of incident types recorded for this time period:
Oct. 28
At 6:37 p.m., Engine 107 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical call in the 1000 block of Loma Lisa Lane. Upon arrival, fire personnel found an elderly female experiencing generalized weakness. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene including 12-lead cardiac monitoring and blood glucose level monitoring. The patient was transported to Methodist Hospital of Southern California for further evaluation and treatment.
Oct. 29
At 1:55 a.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical assist in the 400 block of West Huntington Drive. Fire crews arrived to find a 95-year-old female having trouble breathing. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene including intravenous access, 12-lead cardiac monitoring, and oxygen therapy. The patient was transported to Methodist Hospital of Southern California for further evaluation and treatment.
Oct. 30
At 7:15 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical call in the 600 block of West Duarte Road. Upon arrival, fire personnel found a 45-year-old female having chest pain. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene including oxygen therapy, 12-lead cardiac monitoring, intravenous access, and drug therapy. The patient was transported to Methodist Hospital of Southern California for further evaluation and treatment.
Oct. 31
At 6:13 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical assist in the 400 block of West Longden Avenue. Fire crews arrived to find an elderly male having a seizure. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene including 12-lead cardiac monitoring, blood glucose level monitoring, and intravenous access. The patient was transported to Methodist Hospital of Southern California for further evaluation and treatment.
Nov. 1
At 9:40 a.m., Engine 107 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical call in the 400 block of Cambridge Drive. Upon arrival, fire personnel found an elderly female having chest pain. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene including oxygen therapy, 12-lead cardiac monitoring, intravenous access, and drug therapy. The patient was transported to Methodist Hospital of Southern California for further evaluation and treatment.
Nov. 2
At 5:33 p.m., Engine 107 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical assist in the 600 block of Arbolada Drive. Fire crews arrived to find a 60-year-old male experiencing shortness of breath and weakness. Paramedics provided advanced life support measures on scene including oxygen therapy, 12-lead cardiac monitoring, intravenous access, and drug therapy. The patient was transported to Methodist Hospital of Southern California for further evaluation and treatment.
Nov. 3
At 6:24 p.m., Engine 106 and Rescue Ambulance 106 responded to a medical call in the 200 block of West Huntington Drive. Upon arrival, fire personnel found a 68-year-old male experiencing leg pain after falling from a wheelchair. Paramedics immobilized the patient’s leg and transported him to Methodist Hospital of Southern California for further evaluation and treatment.
