Prop 3 defeated in close race
By Terry Miller
Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk (RR/CC) Dean C. Logan announced semi-official results for the Nov. 6 General Election. A total of 1,975,855 ballots were processed and counted, with 38 percent of eligible registered voters casting ballots.
Incumbents, as is often the case, win. Ed Chau won over challenger Burton Brink by 68.85 percent in the 49th District Assembly race. Chris Holden, Adam Schiff and Judy Chu were easily reelected.
Measure 3 was defeated in a close race. State Measure 10 (rent control) was defeated. Measure W (clean water) wins by a large percentage. This is, hopefully, good news for Arcadia as funds from the measure could help restore Baldwin Lake.
It also looks like we’ll have a new Sheriff. Alex Villanueva has a slim lead over Jim McDonnell.
