Sometime between 3/2/18 at 3:30 p.m. and 3/5/18 at 7:00 a.m., a residential burglary occurred in the 300 block of W. Sierra Madre Bl. The unknown suspect(s) cut the window screen of a window located to the rear of the unit and made entry. The suspect(s) then stole property totaling approximately $5279.00
March 5
Officers conducted a welfare check on a male sleeping on a bench on Kersting Ct. The male was in possession of alcohol and was unable to provide identification or give the officers his correct name or date of birth. The male was arrested for possessing alcohol as a minor and providing false information. The subject was transported to the Pasadena Jail where he positively identified through fingerprints.
At 11:26 p.m. Officers responded to a call regarding a resident who had attempted to purchase tickets to sporting event from Craigslist. The resident sent the suspect $1000 cash and was given fake tickets to that event.
March 8
The victim of a phone scam came to the station’s lobby to file a report. The victim stated that she received a phone call from an unknown person advising that her grandson was in jail and in need of bail money. The victim mailed cash to the address provided and later discovered that her grandson was not in jail.
NOTE: This particular phone scam has been active for some time now please verify any calls of this nature with relatives or authorities to determine if the circumstances are true before responding with any transfer of money to anyone.
