Long time Monrovian Fred Bowden died last Saturday. Despite battling cancer, Fred was on vacation in Mexico when he died. Service has no yet been set for the developer who was a major influence in the redevelopment of Monrovia. As Mayor Tom Adams said in his tribute to Bowden as he closed the City Council meeting on Tuesday in his honor, “No one else wanted to build the housing using on West Walnut, Fred stepped up.”
Information on the service for Bowden and full tribute to him will appear later in our next publication.
