On Monday evening, July 24, at about 11:36 p.m., Pasadena Police Department patrol personnel responded to the 400 block of N. Marengo Avenue regarding a report of shots heard and a male heard yelling.
Officers arrived on scene and found a single gunshot victim, a Hispanic male in his 30’s. Pasadena Fire Department paramedics arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Detectives responded to the scene for further investigation, which is on-going. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification to the next-of-kin. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office will make available the identity of the victim.
It is unknown whether the incident was gang related. A motive for the homicide is also unknown at this time. The homicide investigation is in its early stages so limited information is available. As more information develops an update will be provided.
