Two Arrested After Fatal Traffic Collision in Pasadena Thursday Night

On Thursday, April 6, 2017 at about 11:42 p.m., Fire and Police Department personnel responded to the intersection of Colorado Blvd and Michigan Avenue regarding a report of an injury traffic collision. The collision involved a single vehicle with three occupants. The involved vehicle was a 1990’s, American, sedan. Preliminary investigation revealed the driver lost control of the vehicle and the vehicle struck the south curb line of Colorado Blvd and a light standard. The vehicle was found upright.

The driver, a Hispanic male, 22-years old (Altadena resident) was transported to a local hospital in stable condition. The driver is being investigated for suspicion of impaired driving. A rear passenger, a Hispanic male, 22-years old (Pasadena resident) was treated by paramedics at the scene. He was arrested for public intoxication and transported to a local hospital for medical clearance prior to booking at the city jail. The right front passenger succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The investigation of the collision is being conducted by the Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team. The identity of the decedent is currently being withheld pending positive identification and family notification.
