View Winners → Monrovia Police Department Receives $105K to Support Homeless Response Team Efforts

Recently, the city of Monrovia was awarded with two new grants to further support and supplement the Police Department’s homeless response operation. In total, the city was awarded $105,000 in grant funding for the response effort, to include the following:
- The Department received a $65,000 grant to establish a two-person homeless response squad
- Based on the terms of the grant, the city manager’s office says they plan on developing the program to include two officers who will work five hours per week on homeless related issues
- The Department also received a $40,000 grant to train officers to work with the City’s assigned mental health clinician in dealing with homeless issues.
