“Another mystery donor strikes!” the Pasadena Humane Society (PHS) said Tuesday on social media, reporting that just a week after staff discovered an anonymous $8,000 cash donation, a second cash gift was found in the donation bin.
Alerted by an anonymous caller, PHS staff found an envelope stuffed with $2,000 in cash and a note scrawled on a Starbucks napkin: “Got the inspiration last week – please save the animals, for some of us it’s all we have left.”
Officials said they are “overjoyed by the generosity from the community.”
The money will be used to support the care for the 12,000 animals – dogs, cats, rabbits and many other types of creatures – the Humane Society takes in and cares for each year.
