During the past several months, the city has been working with the Bob Bartlett Memorial Committee (Committee) to identify the proper tribute for the late former Mayor Bob Bartlett.
After assessing several different options, the Committee determined that a fitting tribute would be to commission a mosaic mural at Station Square.
After reviewing the proposed tribute, the city council authorized the Committee to consider mosaic mural project concepts from four artist finalists, which include:
– Cha-Rie Tang and Gerda Govine.
– Katherine England.
– Dawn Mendelson.
– Carole Choucair Queijan.
Last week, the Committee met to review presentations from the finalists. All four artists had terrific proposals; however, after careful review and consideration, the Committee ultimately decided that a variation of the proposal submitted by Carole Choucair Queijan would be best option for consideration. The proposed project will be considered by the full city council in October.
