Dear Beacon Media News,

In the Sept. 8 issue you wanted to know what we like and dislike about your newspaper.

Briefly, you are an important local news source. I have no change wish regarding your editorial. You are just right. This also goes to your layout which has a professional look.

But, for the longest time, I noticed that you are hard to find in the City of Pasadena. Your distribution points are very scarce. You can be found only in Vromans and the central library (not even branch libraries). A long time ago I could get you at the Goldline train stations. But I checked the Sierra Madre station a year ago and see nothing.

I suggest having them at all grocery stores: Ralphs, Vons, Super King, Fresh n’ Easy, Trader Joe’s, etc.

Why do I think this is very important? Because, as good as you are, you are not popular in Pasadena. I have friends who don’t even know your paper exists. They all know of the Pasadena Weekly, but were surprised to see me reading the Pasadena Independent.

I know you have good coverage in Monrovia and Sierra Madre, but in Pasadena you are not to be seen.

I hope this fulfills your desire to hear a reader’s feedback.

– Peter Lamendola

Editor’s Note:

Thank you for your compliments and concerns. As we grow, our distribution points have changed slightly. In certain locations, where the newspapers were not being picked up as readily as we’d hoped, we had to alter the drop points.

In east Pasadena, you can find Pasadena Independent in Cameron’s Seafood, Lucky Baldwin’s, as well as Andy’s Coffee Shop.

There are numerous drop sites in Pasadena near Old Town and at many area restaurants. If you have trouble finding us each week, please give us a call and we’ll find the closest point where you may pick up a copy.

Thanks again for your readership and your comments.
