Monrovia Public Library has homework help available for free. Some help is available through the HelpNow feature from Brainfuse, an online service available from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. every day.
According to the library staff, help is available in a variety of subjects including math, English, science, social studies, and test preparation. There is even a writing lab: students submit their essays and receive feedback from teachers around the country.
Among the other features of the system are a language lab, lesson plans, and a flashcard builder. All a student needs to access the system is a Monrovia Library Card.
For information on this program, visit the library or call (626) 256-8273.
There are also live, pre-screened tutors available through the Pro-Active Tutoring Program at no cost to the students. Tutors can assist students from kindergarten through eighth grade in reading, language arts, and math. This help is available every Monday and Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., beginning on Sept. 19 and continuing throughout the school year.
