Monrovia will again celebrate the nation’s birthday with a concert and fireworks display in the Old Town area centered at Library Park. The party will begin with a live entertainment from Person to Person, beginning at 7 p.m.
The concert will be followed by a free 20-minute fireworks show, beginning at 9 p.m.
Concert-goers can reserve a space in Library Park, no larger than 10 feet by 10 feet (space must be supervised at all times).
The city is encouraging everyone to participate in a “Patriotic Canopy Decorating Contest.” Prizes will be awarded for the most festive canopies. City staff will be wandering through the park, looking for those that are interested in participating.
The city wished to thank the sponsors of the event that include: Samuelson & Fetter, Monrovia Old Town Merchants, Wendy’s Hamburgers, Diane Balsamo of Prime Lending, Larry Davis of Prime Lending, and the Sierra Family of Dealerships.
