Last week, two separate local events were postponed.
Brews and Books, originally scheduled for last Thursday, June 23, had to be postponed due to licensing issues. This event has been tentatively rescheduled for some time in September.
The city did provide root beer for those who did show up, but it pated in comparison to the more heady concoctions from Pacific Plate Brewing Company. On a more positive note, that Monrovia microbrewery has been named Small Business of the Year by the San Gabriel Valley Partnership.
The 626 Golden Streets run/bike/walk event, roughly following the route of the Gold Line from South Pasadena to Azusa, was also cancelled – this time, as the result of the San Gabriel Complex Fire. Organizers were concerned, among other things, with the air quality. A new date has not been set.
