Around 2:03 a.m., an officer was dispatched to 7-Eleven, 1003 S. Baldwin Ave., regarding the report of a theft. An investigation revealed the suspect entered the convenience store and asked the cashier for a pack of cigarettes. As the cashier provided the suspect with the cigarettes, the suspect grabbed the cigarette pack and a lighter then fled the location without paying. The 33-year-old male from Port Hueneme was located with the stolen items. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Just after 5:24 p.m., an officer responded to Arcadia County Park, 405 S. Santa Anita Ave., regarding a battery that had just occurred. An investigation revealed the victim was walking toward a park bench when the suspect punched him in his chest. The 53-year-old male from Azusa was located, arrested, and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
June 20
At approximately 11:54 a.m., an officer was dispatched to Westfield Santa Anita, 400 S. Baldwin Ave., regarding a subject removing plants from a mall planter box. Upon contacting the subject, the officer discovered the subject was in possession of a large unguarded razor blade in his shoe. The 22-year-old male from La Mirada was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Just after 5:08 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Cotton On, 400 S. Baldwin Ave., regarding a subject looking under dressing room stalls. An investigation revealed the victim entered a dressing room stall to try on clothing when she noticed a man’s face peering at her from underneath. The suspect attempted to leave the store but was apprehended by mall security. The 36-year-old male from Delano was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
June 21
At about 2:32 p.m., an officer was dispatched to 24 Hour Fitness, 125 N. First Ave., regarding the report of a theft from vehicle. An investigation revealed the victim had left her vehicle with the passenger side window down. When she returned to her car, she discovered $1,000 and her coat had been stolen. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.
At approximately 4:57 p.m., an officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Colorado Place and Gate 6 of the Santa Anita Race Track for expired registration. An investigation revealed the driver had been driving without a driver’s license, without auto insurance, and had expired registration. The driver was also in possession of methamphetamine. The 51-year-old male from Highland Park was cited and released at the scene. The vehicle was released to the registered owner.
June 22
Around 6:56 a.m., officers responded to the 400 block of Joaquin Road regarding the report of a burglary. An investigation revealed an unknown suspect(s) cut a hole in the chain link fence surrounding a house under construction. The suspect(s) stole $6,170 worth of tools. The investigation is ongoing.
Just after 10:25 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Huntington Drive and Michillinda Avenue for equipment violations. An investigation revealed the driver was driving with a suspended license, expired registration, and no proof of insurance. The driver was cited and released at the scene. The vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
June 23
At about 3:14 a.m., officers responded to the area of North Santa Anita Avenue and Santa Clara Street regarding the report of a solo vehicle traffic collision. Upon contacting the driver, the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from the driver. Through a series of tests, the officer determined the 22-year-old female from Montrose was driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. She was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At approximately 7:04 a.m., officers responded to the area of Holly Avenue and Lemon Avenue regarding an activation of an Arcadia Police Department GPS tracker. Arcadia PD detectives had previously deployed decoy packages containing bait property and tracking devices to combat the increase in package thefts from residential areas. An investigation revealed a 19-year-old male from El Monte and a 40-year-old male from Rosemead had the stolen package, property, and tracking device in their vehicle. They were also in possession of drug paraphernalia. Both suspects were arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At about 7:29 p.m., officers were dispatched to Westfield Santa Anita, 400 S. Baldwin Ave., regarding the report of two males fighting. An investigation revealed the fight was between a theft suspect and a witness. The suspect had stolen a wallet and a purse from separate victims inside the mall. The suspect then fled to the parking lot and began pressing the remote key found inside the stolen purse in an attempt to steal the victim’s car. The suspect was confronted and apprehended by a witness and mall security. The 22-year-old male from El Monte was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
June 24
At approximately 1:42 p.m., officers responded to the 400 block of West Longden Avenue regarding an activation of an Arcadia Police Department GPS tracker. An investigation revealed a 29-year-old male from Rosemead had the stolen package, property, and tracking device in his vehicle. The suspect was also found to be in possession of other stolen property, a fraudulent driver’s license, drug paraphernalia, and various illegal fireworks. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
June 25
At about 1:43 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of South Eighth Avenue regarding an activation of an Arcadia Police Department GPS tracker. Officers followed the tracker to a residence in Monrovia. Two males were contacted at the residence and found to be in possession of the stolen package, property, and tracking device. Both suspects also had outstanding warrants for their arrests. The 51-year-old male from West Covina and the 31-year-old male from Monrovia were arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Around 2:28 p.m., an officer was dispatched to JC Penney, 400 S. Baldwin Ave., regarding a shoplifting report. Loss prevention officers witnessed the suspect conceal fragrance bottles inside a plastic shopping bag before exiting the store, failing to make payment. The 23-year-old male from Pasadena was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
