Pasadena celebrated its 130th birthday with community festivities on Sunday, June 12, at the Pasadena Museum of History.
This year’s theme incorporated the care-free spirit of the summer exhibition “Flying Horses & Mythical Beasts: The Magical World of Carousel Animals,” with family-friendly entertainment and activities throughout the garden, including: Circus Aerial Dance performances by Orange County Aerial Arts; music by Southern California Band Organs, and Pasadena Scottish Pipes & Drums; hands-on crafts for the young and young-at-heart; and much more.
Of course, a contingent of Pasadena VIPs were on-hand for the cake-cutting ceremony at 2:30 p.m. and – even better – they shared delicious cake, compliments of Baja Ranch Supermarket, with everyone in attendance.
There was one curiosity at the event Sunday, Miss Pasadena (I did not know we had a Miss Pasadena) was present for the festivities and even the organizers were unfamiliar with the young woman’s title … but apparently the young woman lives in Irwindale… anyone who knows about this, please advise us.
